Albiez-Montrond with children: childcare, sledging, swimming and playgrounds

Albiez is a family resort, and that is more than a slogan: two childcare options, a snow garden, a sledging run next to the residence, a supervised lake in summer and several playgrounds. Here is, concretely, what you can count on with children.

The ski school's childcare

It comes on top of the Piou-Piou club (from 3½) and the 6–12 children's lessons. It is the simplest solution: one contact, one place, and a longer window of cover than the lesson alone.

"Le Petit Montagnard" holiday club

It takes children aged 4 to 12 during the winter and summer school holidays. On the programme: arts activities, supervised sport, discovery workshops and mini-camps. It is the answer for a day off the snow, or for a child who has had enough of it.

"Le Chat Perché" day nursery

Regular or occasional care, in winter and summer, for children from 3 months to 6 years. This is what makes a stay possible with a very young child.

Winter: sledging, snow garden and torches

The Mollard sledging run sits right beside the Hameau des Aiguilles residence and catches plenty of sun. Snow cover is not guaranteed — it is a natural run — but when it is in, it is thirty seconds from the door.

The Coucou drag lift is the beginners' one, and the Polytre offers several places to let go of the bar, with increasing difficulty: enough to progress without a fright.

And the Albiez C'Show on Tuesday evenings lets children from "flocon" level upwards join a torchlit descent, with fireworks to follow. It is usually the memory that sticks.

Husky sledding, on the other hand, needs booking well in advance.

Summer: swimming, ponies and bikes

The Mollard lake, 350 m away, is supervised from 1 July to 31 August, noon to 6 pm. There is an inflatable play structure, a paddling pool for the smallest, picnic tables, a pétanque pitch, a volleyball court and public toilets.

300 m from the apartment, the Kavalkada riding centre runs half-hour and one-hour pony rides around the Châtel, and week-long pony courses.

In the village, the BMX race track is freely accessible, ringed by football, basketball, tennis and pétanque areas, a playground and picnic tables.

In the apartment

A baby kit (travel cot and high chair) is available on request. The mountain alcove, with its bunk beds, is generally the first place children claim as their own. Full sleeping details are on the apartment page.

One point of honesty: access involves around fifty steps up from the car park. With a pushchair, that is worth knowing before booking.
