Long stays in Albiez, out of season
The flat is let by the week during the holidays. The rest of the year it stands empty — and that is exactly when a stay of several weeks makes sense, for anyone working in the valley who would rather come home to quiet at 1,600 metres than to the side of a road.
The ski area opens from 19 December 2026 to 21 March 2027. That leaves two quiet windows: from the area closing until the end of June, then from September until the December re-opening. Those periods, and only those, are when we offer long stays.
The Lyon-Turin project
The Lyon-Turin base tunnel employs more than three thousand people in the Maurienne, through to 2030, with around thirty arriving every week. Finding somewhere to live is the first problem every one of them faces. The access adits at Saint-Martin-la-Porte and La Praz are a little further up the same valley, on the same road — we have not measured those journeys ourselves, but they remain valley commutes.
Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne is 18 km away, about twenty minutes downhill — 22 minutes to be exact, on a road cleared all winter.
What the flat is worth over several weeks
- Three separate sleeping spaces: ideal for two, or even three people, each with their own privacy.
- A full kitchen, oven and dishwasher: you will not be eating out six nights a week.
- A south-facing balcony looking at the Aiguilles d'Arves, and the silence of a village of 300 people.
- Free parking and a key box: you come and go under your own steam, at whatever time suits.
- 1,600 metres of altitude, meaning cool nights in summer and dry air all year.
Getting out in the evening and at weekends
This is what separates Albiez from a room at the bottom of the valley. Six waymarked walks start from the village, from forty minutes to three and a half hours. The Col du Mollard sits at the edge of the hamlet for anyone who rides, and the Espace Trail of the Aiguilles d'Arves country holds 550 kilometres of waymarked routes a quarter of an hour away. And there is the view, as far as the eye goes, which asks nothing more than opening the balcony door.

What comes with a long stay
- Bed linen and bath towels provided.
- Cleaning and a change of linen every fortnight, more often if needed.
- Invoice made out to the company or agency making the booking.
- Payment by card or bank transfer.
- Non-smoking flat.
What we do not offer
Neither school holiday weeks nor July and August: those go to holidaymakers, that is our trade and we do not bend it. We do not let single rooms or shares either — it is the whole flat, for one person or for a team that gets on.
Booking
Free dates are on our calendar and booking is direct, with no agency in between. If you are booking for an employee or a team and need a quote and then an invoice in the company's name, write to us — it is the most common case and we are used to it.
